Abstract

Perhaps the subject of (Destiny) and its control over human destiny is one of the oldest intellectual topics, and the most indicative contexts that have been raised in human thought, as no intellectual and creative field has been involved in it, whether it is in religion, philosophy, or art. Hence fate had a culture that proved its presence in the popular imagination.
This research studies the culture of (destiny) in the popular imagination and its evolution from the (proverb) formula to the (Mawal) formula, taking the proverb / Mawal: “Elly Inkatab Ala El Gebeen” as a model for the study.
The study thus seeks to root the perception of destiny in the popular imagination first, then seek its presence in the popular sayings through (the proverb), and then develop it in another distinct performance form, which is the form of (Mawal) who was composed and sung.
