This paper aims to highlight the importance of our Arab-Islamic heritage in preserving our unique identity and personality, especially in the era of globalization, which seeks to dissolve and stereotype different identities or cast them in one mold to imbue them with the American Western character. The research also showed that there is no contradiction between preserving heritage and caring for the future.
The paper also presented an introduction to the Arab heritage and the Arabic manuscript, noting our heritage in the various scientific, medical and literary fields. The research showed the functions related to heritage at the personal and global levels. For the first, it represents our national memory, and for the second, it contributed to providing the Western world with the foundations for its progress, particularly in the Middle Ages. Moreover, the heritage related to our faith or our literary, poetic and linguistic treasures cannot be dispensed with.
The research also presented the concept of globalization and a warning against falling into its trap. However, its bright side can be invested in preserving our heritage. The paper also hinted at what we must do about our heritage and our manuscripts to preserve them from loss and extinction. The research concluded with a speech about innovation and heritage in the era of globalization.
