From celebration to celebration, it seems that the Arabic manuscript gets little media attention. Whatever the case, the celebration of Manuscript Day or the legacy of the Manuscript remains for those who adhere to the Arabic language and identity as an indispensable event. The late Professor Dr. Mohamed Fawzy Gaballah - the expert at the Center for the Investigation of Arab Heritage at Misr University for Science and Technology - wondered about the role of the media in introducing our manuscript heritage last April. He was never satisfied with this role while this Arab media mobilizes with all its means to promote anything that comes from the external other. The spectacle of dedicating days to celebrate identity, language, heritage, science, and these authentic values that some forget in the midst of preoccupation with the search for a livelihood may conflict with the idea of achievement, work and projection on contemporary reality. But after thinking about it closely, and as we invoke these values in our periodic celebrations of them, we inquire and rethink the words of this heritage through which the lofty ideas, visions and perceptions that emerged from the minds of our scholars in the past were engraved, without doubting that they were open to an understanding of their heritage as well. They renewed, added, and innovated, never separated from their old ones.
