Travel blogs contain functional texts which describe people's experience and show their personality. The purpose of this research is to determine the characteristics of texts in travel blogs and to investigate its structure and its function. Elke Weiler is one of the best German travel bloggers in the year 2021. She wrote “VON SAFRAN; SCHAFEN UND DER LUST AM SINGEN“ describing her trip to the Swedish island "Gotland" in her travel blog "Meerblog" This Text is the subject of this research. The research shows that texts in travel blogs have some language characteristics. They are informative and narrative to inform and attract readers. The research discovered that the author used photos, Swedish words instead of synonyms and present tense to stimulate the imagination of the readers and make them share her experience and emotions. In conclusion travel blogs are becoming popular because they use verbal and nonverbal communication methods to connect authors and readers successfully.
