This study presents the subject of emotional tragedy and lost love between the Egyptian poetic play (Majnoun Laila) by the Prince of Poets Ahmed Shawky, and the Chinese Shaoxing Opera (Liang shan bo and Zhu ying tai), through the similarities between the two stories, the differences, and the similarities and differences in terms of artistic features. The Egyptian poetic play (Majnoun Laila) by the Prince of Poets Ahmed Shawky, and the Chinese Shaoxing Opera " Liang shan bo and Zhu ying tai" are among the influential folk stories that have spread widely in the Arab world and China separately. Each is typical of tragic love stories that deeply reflect the common desire of human nature for true love, and also reflect the pain and suffering experienced by loving parties after this desire is suppressed. Where these two great stories embody parties belonging to different nationalities and different regions; Therefore, feelings differed, as did the way of expressing them, and the way of defending them; It presented in a vivid picture the cultural and intellectual difference in expressing the emotional tragedy between two different peoples. These two stories showed a number of similarities and differences, as they embodied on the one hand the greatness of humanity, and on the other hand, made us see clearly the cultural and moral features distinguishing between Arabic and Chinese as they were manifested in the literature of the two peoples.
