The impact of Fourth Generation Warfare on the Intellectual Security for youth in the Egyptian Society: A Field Study

Abstract

In view of the phenomenon of the growing use of technological means among members of society in modern societies; The intellectual, ideological, psychological, and media wars they are exposed to, and the surge in information that represents real challenges facing their intellectual security; This study seeks to reveal the role played by the fourth generation wars with its various mechanisms in affecting the intellectual security of youth in Egyptian society, by identifying the attitudes of individuals towards the use of these means, and the extent to which this use contributes to the fragmentation of their intellectual identity in the era of cultural and media openness. .

This study belongs to the style of descriptive studies, which aims to study the current facts related to a phenomenon, situation, or group of individuals. Using and openness to modern media and technology, as the study sample consisted of 500 young men and women between the ages of 18-35 years.

Results:

1. Facebook is the most widely used social networking site among young people in Egyptian society.

2. Young people use social media daily for more than 3 hours.

3. Lack of awareness of the term fourth generation wars among the younger generation.

4. Rumors are considered one of the most important mechanisms of fourth generation warfare in Egypt.

5. High rate of youth awareness of the danger of social media on their intellectual security.
