Abstract

Interaction, keeping pace with technological development, and communication with different cultures have become inevitable. However, this does not mean being distanced from the local culture. Rather, there is a dynamic of retaining national identity while being influenced by the cultures with which the person interacts on digital sites. Here comes the question posed by this research paper: Is it possible that one day we will have a homogeneous global culture considering interaction in digital media? New technology and forms of communication around the world are helping to integrate different cultures and people no longer need plane tickets to visit a country, since exposure to cultures is at their fingertips. Digital media has turned the entire world into one large market, where an artist living in Australia can provide graphic design services to clients worldwide. Digital media has also simplified the process of selling products and services to global clients from home considering globalization, and these are the advantages that it has provided. The Internet has made people in the world belong to that small village that has crossed all borders to make the world a place that accommodates everyone. Digital media users have come to belong to a single global community considering globalization. Thus, it is possible to hypothesize that interaction in digital media may weaken a person's feelings within his community by belonging to one local culture.
