Abstract

 This research study investigates the patterns of presenting folk art and popular culture in the series "El Kebeer Awi" that aired during Ramadan on WATCH IT platform. The study analyzed content from several seasons with a focus on the sixth and seventh seasons, examining dialogues, visual elements, recurring story themes, and vocabulary related to folk art and popular culture.
The researcher used the descriptive-analytical approach through in-depth interview tools to achieve a more accurate analysis from the research sample, which consisted of drama specialists and the audience who watched the series.
The study found that "El Kebeer Awi" widely utilizes vocabulary from folk art and popular culture, reflecting its integration into the series' broader cultural environment. Words and phrases related to music, films, and art regularly intersect in dialogue, with special attention to local Egyptian dialect and expressions, indicating significant intertextuality.
The analysis also showed that the use of such vocabulary played an essential role in the narrative structure, contributing to character development and plot.
