Abstract

This research paper discusses the benefits accruing to the elderly from using the Internet in general and from social networking sites in particular, by identifying the extent to which the elderly benefit from social networking sites to develop their needs and what prevents them from indulging in social networking sites, by monitoring The advantages of elderly interaction with digital platforms through the digital environment of daily social experiences and the structure of the social network, in addition to monitoring the importance of social networking sites in building successful relationships between the elderly and their families. It is an effective way to closely follow the news of their grandchildren, as studies have confirmed that social networking sites improve their cognitive abilities, enhance their sense of self-confidence, and may have a generally beneficial effect on their mental health and physical well-being and also help in improving memory. Elderly users have better human relationships and stay in a state of social activity in the long term for the elderly.
