Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the level of awareness among Egyptian youth regarding the enrichment provided by interactive artificial intelligence (AI) applications and their role in shaping their digital persona. The study was conducted using a purposive sample (n= 400) of Egyptian youth who actively use AI applications, encompassing various age groups and educational backgrounds, including both males and females. The findings revealed that 47.8% of the sample consistently use AI applications, while 42.3% use them occasionally. The majority of youth utilize interactive AI applications for utilitarian purposes, such as acquiring new information related to work and education, with an average score of 2.68. Additionally, they use these applications to enhance their digital and personal skills, with an average score of 2.49. Results indicated that all dimensions of digital personality (digital self, digital identity, digital interaction and presence, and security and privacy) showed the respondents' awareness of the impact of interactive AI applications on shaping their digital persona. Furthermore, a significant positive correlation was identified between the youth's usage of AI applications and their perception of information enrichment. The results also demonstrated a significant positive correlation between the youth's usage of AI applications and their awareness of the role these applications play in shaping their digital persona.
