Professor Abdul Halim Montaser, botanist and historian of science, with a bibliographical list of his works

In the introduction to this paper, the writer expresses his appreciation for Dr. Abdul Halim Montaser and his fellow distinguished and educated scholars, then provides some information about his upbringing and briefly summarizes his educational and scientific career, then clarifies the conditions of an intellectual from his point of view.
     The paper also presented a brief presentation of Dr. Montaser’s contributions to public work, and explained some of his important opinions and suggestions in his various articles that he addressed to administrative officials for the benefit of the nation.
 The paper also presented some of his scientific works and impacts in the fields of teaching and the graduation of generations of professors in botany and plant ecology, and the values ​​that he instilled among his peers and students, such as respect for work, time, and adherence to appointments, and his great interest in the Arabic language, especially in explanation and teaching, with the urge to learn at least a foreign language in order to follow everything new that appears on the global scene. He was credited with issuing a quarterly magazine called “Risalat Al-Ilm” (The message of science) to be a mouthpiece for scientists to express scientific issues and topics in the Arabic language. This article also included a bibliographic survey of almost all of his works. The article also explained the story of his joining the Arabic Language Academy, and his proposal to have a ministry dedicated to scientific research, and his proposal of establishing more universities to receive the increasing numbers of students every year.
