Abstract

The global media landscape is undergoing radical transformations. Individuals are now besieged by a massive amount of media messages, which necessitates continued efforts to enhance the capacity and develop the skills of university students, preparing them academically and professionally to better engage with digital content and understand its impact and risks. Media requires us to use critical thinking skills, help us understand how to communicate with others, and explain how we understand the world, including its values and ideas, by helping individuals understand themselves, others, and public life. This is achieved by examining the diverse intellectual and political messages presented in digital media. It can be said that media training has become a necessity to confront the challenges and risks of the digital world and to limit the negative impacts of many messages in digital content. For training courses to achieve their objectives, they must focus on developing media engagement skills, evaluating the media content of new media outlets with which individuals interact, and understanding their sources and the underlying objectives. The training courses are intended to be a key tool for spreading digital media awareness and knowledge, helping foster a deeper understanding of digital platforms and social media, and maximizing the opportunities offered by modern technology. They also aim to provide protection against violations and negative effects of digital media use. They also encourage the development of research and fact-checking skills, enhance critical thinking among students, and enable them to express themselves through various media outlets.
